“It Was Don Jazzy Who Disvirgined Me” – Tonto Dikeh

Tonto Dikeh is never a mile away from controversy. And this time around, she has not released a new single and uploaded a semi-nude picture.
The Nollywood actress, sensationally claimed via Twitter, that her first sexual
experience, was with foremost music producer, Don Jazzy.
"I got disvirgined by @DONJAZZY i think this a lil bit Too Much info," she wrote. Don Jazzy, who was online at the time, chose to respond with humour. He wrote: "lol me dat im still a V," ('V' meaning virgin).
A lot of fans were amused and shocked at the same time and reacted differently. Some did not believe
it, stating clearly that Tonto was still on her attention-seeking mission.
But it might just be true, as Don Jazzy, once dated the actress and admitted it sometime back.

Meet the 44 year old mother that breast feeds her dog.

Meet Terri Graham, a 44-year-old mother of two from California – who breastfeeds her dog, Spider. Graham first started breastfeeding Spider when the dog started licking the teat of the bottle she had filled to breastfeed her son… And the rest is rather bizarre history.
The 44-year-old mother of two who couldn't breastfeed her children turned to a rather unorthodox way of fulfilling her maternal desire by breastfeeding her 9-year-old daughter's pug.

In an interview with 'Closer' magazine, Graham said people called her a freak but she is finally getting the breastfeeding experience she missed out on with my children. "Having Spider suck on my boob means I finally feel complete and a better mother," she said. She continued: "Her tongue tickles and I do feel her teeth, but she latches on in a way that they don't hurt me," she explains. "I breastfeed Spider in front of the kids and they think it's amazing."Well, yes, amazing it is. But is 'being breastfed' as amazing as the dog tricks below? Actually, don't answer that. In fact, it's probably best not to think about it too much at all…
However, Graham isn't the first woman to admit to breastfeeding her dog.
According to Inquisitr.com, a British woman named Suzanna Morgan said she gave her dog, Dixie, a bottle of breast milk she had pumped to get her pet to stop barking when no dog food was left in the house Closer interviewed a psychologist who told the magazine that Graham should seek therapy.

Gerrard is selfish... he would rather score and Liverpool lose, claims Diouf

El Hadji Diouf has launched an astonishing attack on Steven Gerrard - claiming the Liverpool captain is selfish.
Diouf has burned his bridges at almost every club
he's been at and the controversial striker can certainly forget about returning to Anfield.
Now at Leeds, the 31-year-old forward played for the Reds between 2002 and 2004. Diouf told L'Equipe: 'Gerrard was jealous of me back then as I had the world at my feet. There's no one more selfish... he doesn't care about anyone else.

'Gerrard would rather Liverpool lost and he scored. The old Liverpool guys can't stand him. I won't even start with [Jamie] Carragher.'
During his Liverpool days Diouf was banned and fined for spitting at a Celtic fan during a UEFA Cup tie at Parkhead.
Diouf is now strutting his stuff as captain of Leeds in the Championship for a manager, Neil Warnock, who once labelled him a sewer rat.
His other clubs include Sochaux, Rennes, Lens, Bolton, Sunderland, Blackburn, Rangers and Doncaster but despite the many moves, Diouf has no doubts when it comes to his own ability.
He added: 'I once took a private jet with Maradona. He shook my hand and told me he'd enjoyed (watching me play). That makes me happy.'
Senegal capped Diouf 69 times and he said: 'Back in Senegal, I'm a demi god. People went and burned tyres simply because I wasn't picked for the play-off against Ivory Coast.'
After Diouf left for Bolton Wanderers, Gerrard questioned the Senegal international's commitment during his time at Anfield.
'I wasn't Diouf's number one fan,' wrote the Liverpool captain in his 2007 autobiography.
'Being around Melwood and Anfield I knew which players were hungry, which players had Liverpool at heart. Diouf was just interested in himself.
'His attitude was all wrong. I felt he wasn't really a***d about putting his body on the line to get Liverpool back at the top.'

Police Arrest Three Monkeys For Theft In Lagos

There was a mild drama at the weekend when the police at Ikotun Division, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, arrested three monkeys and their minders suspected to be Fulani herdsmen who were allegedly using the monkeys to breach public peace and to steal.

Police arrested the monkeys and their minders at the popular Ikotun roundabout. But the monkeys shocked the police and resisted being forced into the station. They stood at the entrance where they continued their usual demonstration and acrobatic displays. The policemen who arrested them became angry and threatened to shoot them.
The drama stirred up confusion because a large crowd gathered at the entrance of the police station to watch the moneys display. The Ikotun Police Divisional Police Officer, CSP Akika later came out of his office and
intervened. He released the moneys to their owners and dispersed the crowd at the station.
P.M.NEWS learnt through the residents that whenever the monkeys and their minders were in Ikotun, a large crowd usually gathered to watch them display. But criminals seized the opportunity to steal from the
onlookers and passers-by pickpockets usually have a field day during such displays.
Before the monkeys were arrested on Friday, a victim, Nurudeen Idowu complained to the police that
when he passed through a crowd watching the monkeys, he lost N5,700 he had on him. He said he suspected that the monkeys' minders were collaborating with criminals to steal from the people.
Another victim, Mrs. Victoria Udoh, claimed she lost N22,000 when she joined the crowd to watch the monkeys display, lamenting that she could not tell her husband how she lost the money.
A trader in Ikotun market, Edwin Chris, also claimed he was a victim. He said his N9,000 was stolen as he watched the monkeys during the week.

Pregnant women who sleep on their back may increase stillbirth risk

  • Women who sleep on their backs six times more likely to have stillbirth
  • May reduce blood flow through a major vein that supplies blood to the womb
  • But researchers stress no definitive link established
Pregnant women who sleep on their backs may increase the risk of miscarriage, Australian research has found.

The study, known as the Sydney Stillbirth Study, looked at the pregnancies of 295 women from eight hospitals around Australia.

The five-year study found that women who sleep on their backs are six times more likely to have a stillborn baby.

Lead researcher Dr Adrienne Gordon, from Sydney's Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, said previous research had suggested prolonged periods in this position restricted blood flow to the baby.
It's thought that sleeping on the right side or on the back reduces blood flow through a major vein from the legs to the heart, which affects the supply to the womb.
The researchers added it was important that women who are currently pregnant 'don’t become alarmed if they sometimes sleep on their back'.
Experts have pointed out previously that three-quarters of pregnant women sleep mostly on the left side – higher than the rate in women who are not pregnant.

Consolation prize: Men with small penises rewarded with iPhones by sex site

A Danish dating site wants to reward men that nature did not. The bawdy Singlesex.dk is offering an iPhone to the user with the smallest penis. Yes, the smallest.

Men can submit a photo of their misfortune and women users will play judge. The winner gets an iPhone 5 and the runner up makes off with an iPad 3.
This isn't the first time Singlesex.dk has come up with an off-color contest. Previously, contestants could face off for "most handsome" penis.
The owner of Singlesex, Morten Fabricius, says he wants to boost the confidence of less-endowed men.
"It's a competition which is at the core of manhood, the most important thing for a man. There are so many unhappy men out there, who think you have to have a giant penis, but it's not normal to have a huge one," he told AFP.
The competition runs until Jan. 31, 2013.

Teacher arrested for stuffing 19 school kids in her tiny car

A South African nursery school teacher has been caught transporting 19 children in her Renault Clio.
Melanie Minnie was stopped as she carried a class of children aged between four and six on a school trip to a shopping mall burger bar.
Police officers were shocked to discover she had six children in the small car's boot; at least three on the
front seat and the remaining ten on the car's back seat. It is unclear whether any were wearing seat belts.
A local newspaper photographer was on the scene to capture striking images of the children squashed into the tiny car.
Nico van Heerden said police had been tipped off about the safety breach by a concerned shopper at Pretoria's Jacaranda shopping mall who saw the teacher loading the children into her car.
Police stopped her a block away from the shopping centre, the photographer said, as she made the mile-long journey to the Rietfontein nursery school. Far from being uncomfortable, however, the children seemed relatively comfortable and excited by the action, Mr van Heerden claimed. He said: 'They were excited at first, but after a while they started to get a more worried and cried.'
Ms Minnie was quoted in South Africa's Afrikaans language Beeld newspaper 'this is the first time we
went on an outing – and the last time'.
According to the paper, Ms Minnie was stopped while in the process of ferrying the second of two car-loads of children back to her nursery from the mall. She told police she had already transported a first
group of 12 children in her car.
Police spokeswoman Charmaine Louwrens said the teacher was fined R1,500 (just over £100) for having
more people in a car that it was designed to carry.

Can Energy Drinks Affect Your Liver Or Kidneys?

Alcohol may be becoming unpopular in some Nigerian societies, but energy drinks are becoming popular. Almost everyone who wouldn't take alcohol in a party would be found taking at least an energy drink.

Energy drinks contain caffeine, taurine, sugar, amino acids and herbal supplements like guarana, ginseng designed to boost your energy and keep you alert. In large quantities, energy drinks can be harmful to your health.
One of the liver's main functions is to detoxify your body by breaking down chemicals from your food and drink. The kidneys filter your blood and maintain appropriate electrolyte levels. Consuming energy drinks causes your liver and kidney to work harder to keep your internal environment balanced.
A 2011 study by researchers at the University of Miami found that drinking energy drinks has caused kidney and liver damage in adolescents and young adults. Healthy adults can drink small amounts of energy drinks without experiencing ill effects. In large quantities, however, energy drinks might cause you to develop kidney or liver problems.
A woman last year reported to the Staten Island University Hospital after consuming 10 cans of an energy drink for 14 consecutive days. Doctors concluded that she had jaundice, indicating that her liver was failing.
So, before you consume cans of energy drink the way your unheeding friend consumes several bottles of beer, would you rather think twice?

Jay-Z: Size doesn’t matter! It’s what you do with it that counts

Jay-Z has had quite a bit of criticism come his way for saying he is co-owner of the Brooklyn Nets, when in fact, he only owns a small fraction. In answer to the criticism, Jay-Z said: Size doesn't matter.

The rapper pushed back at his critics while performing at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn New York where he's performed every night since Saturday. Speaking to his audience, he said, "It doesn't matter what percentage. The story is that a black kid from a single parent house made it from [the Marcy Projects] from about six minutes away from here. So the fact that I have any ownership in this franchise is fucking amazing. The fact that I have any ownership in this venue is fucking amazing. Don't let them diminish your accomplishment or dim your shine. It's fucking amazing."
It is rather difficult to disagree with the rapper when he puts it that way. To come from the projects and end up in Jay-Z's position is remarkable. What Jay-Z's critics say is that it's not enough to just be remarkable. It's admirable to rise to the top but what's makes a man more remarkable is what he does with his position once
he gets to the top.
Jay-Z rubs shoulders with President Barack Obama and the First Lady and is reported to have Donald Trump on speed dial so clearly, he is an accomplished man and no one can dispute that.
Jigga is right, size doesn't matter, it's what you do with it that counts. So the real question is what is Jay-Z doing with this.

Rawlings meets Akufo-Addo - charges him to fight corruption

Founder of the ruling National Democratic Congress, former President Rawlings, yesterday charged Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, to take the necessary steps to fight the cancer of corruption which has engulfed the current administration in the event of becoming the next president after the upcoming December polls.
Mr Rawlings, who appeared certain of an Akufo-Addo victory in the December polls, expressed deep regrets about the fact that corruption was eating too deep into the fabric of the country, with the resources of the nation not being used for the benefit of the people.

He therefore charged Nana Akufo-Addo to ensure judicious use of the nation's resources to meet the basic needs of the people and ensure the promotion of their welfare under his presidency.
Nana Akufo-Addo, in the company of Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, NPP National Chairman, Fred Oware, NPP 1st National Vice Chairman, was at the former president's office on a courtesy call. The two agreed on the need for collaborative efforts to safeguard the nation's peace and stability, by particularly ensuring that the upcoming December presidential and parliamentary elections take place in an atmosphere of peace.
Former President Rawlings noted that the historic meeting between him and Nana Akufo-Addo would send out a strong signal to supporters of both the NPP and the NDC that the nation's democracy had come of age, and so there was the need for high level of tolerance, co-operation and unity in the pursuit of the national interest.
He also stressed the need for all to remain vigilant at the polls, and ensure that the nation goes through free and fair elections on December 7.
Top among the concerns of Mr Rawlings were how the NPP Presidential Candidate will fight the cancer of corruption, tackle the basic needs of the people by ensuring judicious of the nation's resources and ensure the safety of members of the ruling NDC under his presidency.
Mr Rawlings, who disclosed he would take active part in this year's electioneering campaign, appealed to Nana Akufo-Addo to ensure the safety of members of the NDC under his presidency.
He noted that it was the fear of going into opposition, and the uncertainty of what awaits them, that had given rise to the nervousness of the ruling party in its outlook.
The NDC founder demanded an assurance from Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP that when they return to the corridors of power after the December polls, they would ensure members of his party enjoy some peace and justice.
Nana Akufo-Addo assured Mr Rawlings and members of the NDC that they would have nothing to fear under his presidency, stressing that he would always ensure the people of Ghana, irrespective of their backgrounds, feel secure at all times, with their personal lives not being in danger.
The NPP leader said he did not see any reason why a change of power from one political party to another should pose a threat to any group of people, adding that he would be committed to all aspects of the welfare of the people. "Come what may after the December elections, we should all collaborate to ensure the nation's peace and stability. There is nothing for anyone to be afraid of under my presidency. I will ensure good governance that will secure the collective interest of the nation," Nana Akufo-Addo assured.
The NPP Presidential Candidate added that there was better future ahead of the nation, where there would be more constructive engagement for Ghana to continue to show the way in good governance on the African continent.

Yamoah Ponkoh Slaps Driver

AFRIFA YAMOAH Ponkoh, the controversial Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ejisu/Juaben, is in the news again for the wrong reasons as he is alleged to have traded slaps with a driver of the assembly over
money last Sunday.
The outspoken MCE reportedly slapped the driver, Bismarck Adjei, who he had sent on an errand after he demanded a change which the driver refused to produce.

Adjei, according to reports, became irritated after receiving the slap from the well-built former football administrator. He was compelled to retaliate in a brutal fashion by slapping the MCE twice in the face. Unconfirmed reports indicated that the driver's slap was heavier than that of Yamoah Ponkoh who started
bleeding profusely from the nose and mouth, making him dizzy instantly.
The unpleasant spectacle was said to have occurred in the presence of the Municipal Coordinating Director of the assembly and other people who rushed in on time to save the MCE from the pugnacious driver.
The driver of the assembly was reportedly sent to the police station and detained on Sunday but was given
a bail on Monday.
So far, all reports emerging indicated that indeed the feud between the MCE and the driver was triggered following a misunderstanding over an amount of GH¢20. But where the fight took place is still unknown.
Whilst some sources alleged that the exchange of the slaps occurred at the MCE's office, others claimed
that the battle indeed took place at the official residence of Yamoah Ponkoh.
Also not clear is what actually triggered the fight between the MCE and the driver.
Some people alleged that Yamoah Ponkoh gave the driver GH¢20 to take his car to the washing bay and
the driver, upon returning, refused to give the change to the MCE.
Others also claimed that Yamoah Ponkoh gave the driver money to buy an item for him when they travelled to Accra recently and when he (Yamoah) demanded his change later, Driver Adjei refused to give it to him.
The MCE reportedly kept his cool until Sunday when he demanded his change from the driver who again
refused to produce the money, forcing him to slap him instantly.

Police shoot sales girl dead, injure 3 others

A 20-year old sales girl identified simply as Lucy, was on Friday was shot dead by policemen in the Apo area of Abuja, in nigeria. The girl was hit in the chest by bullets fired into a photography shop where she worked as a sales girl. Three other people sustained gunshot injuries when policemen from the FCT Police Command fired bullets indiscriminately in an attempt to enforce the demolition order of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council.

The policemen had stormed the area around 7 am with officials of Development Control Department, who had come to demolish illegal structures. But residents and indigenes, who felt that the government had no right to demolish their houses when they were yet to be resettled, resisted the operation.
They claimed that the case was still in court and that their leaders had advised them to continue to live in the area pending the determination of the suit. As the policemen shot indiscriminately to control the residents, bullets penetrated into one of the shops and Lucy was hit in the chest. She was rushed to Garki Hospital, but she was confirmed dead on arrival. Her body has been deposited in the mortuary. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Wilson Inalegwu, met the House of Representatives representing
AMAC/Bwari constituency of the FCT, Zephaniah Jisalo, at the hospital when he visited. Inalegwu, who was in tears, assured the lawmaker that the case would be investigated. “We are not sure what took our men there or what led to the shooting, it’s still a matter for investigation,” he said. Emeka Ani, owner of the photo shop, where the deceased worked, said that his sales boy also sustained gunshot injuries during the incident. He said, “From morning, the police surrounded our area. They said they came for demolition. All of a sudden, they started shooting sporadically. They shot into my shop and killed my sales girl. My boy also sustained injuries. Lucy has been with me for about one month. Her sister brought her for me from Cross River.” The National Coordinator, Greater Gbyagi Initiative, Mr. Gimba Baiza, described the incident as wicked.

Al-Qaida leader urges holy war over Prophet film

The leader of Al-Qaida has urged Muslims to wage holy war against the United States and Israel over a film that insulted Islam's Prophet Muhammad.
Ayman al-Zawahri praised as "honest and zealous" demonstrators who breached the U.S Embassy in Cairo and attackers who stormed the U.S. "embassy" in Benghazi in violence linked to the film. The American ambassador and three others died in the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in the Libyan city.
The amateur film "Innocence of Muslims" was made by an Egyptian-born American citizen.
In an audio message released by al-Qaida's media arm As-Sahab and posted on militant websites early Saturday, al-Zawahri claimed Washington allowed the film's production under the pretext of freedom of expression, "but this freedom did not prevent them from torturing Muslim prisoners."

Wayne Rooney: I would love full-time England captaincy after leading my country against San Marino

Last night saw Manchester United striker Rooney lead out his country on home soil for the first time in a 5-0 thrashing of San Marino which lifted them back to the top of Group H.
The 26-year-old celebrated the landmark by reaching another, netting his 30th and 31st international goals to climb to fifth in England's all-time leading scorer list.

Tuesday night's trip to Warsaw will see Gerrard reclaim the armband after returning from suspension and Rooney said: "It won't be a different way I look at the game or the way I try to do things.
"I always try to talk to my team-mates and I feel I can help them.
"It's something that I was lucky to have when I was younger and it's something which I feel it'll benefit them."
Rooney admitted he would love to skipper England full time, saying: "If you can get the opportunity to captain your country, it's something which I think - as a player - you need to grab with both hands.
"In the future, hopefully that'll happen. But, at the minute, Steven's our captain and he'll lead by example for us."
Last night's game was not the first time Rooney had captained England but it was the first at Wembley.

TOMATOES ARE 'STROKE PREVENTERS'

A diet rich in tomatoes may reduce the risk of having a stroke, according to researchers in Finland.
They were investigating the impact of lycopene - a bright red chemical found in tomatoes, peppers and water-melons.
A study of 1,031 men, published in the journal Neurology, showed those with the most lycopene in their bloodstream were the least likely to have a stroke.
The Stroke Association called for more research into why lycopene seemed to have this effect. The levels of lycopene in the blood were assessed at the beginning of the study, which then followed the men for the next 12 years. They were split into four groups based on the amount of lycopene in their blood. There were 25 strokes in the 258 men in the low lycopene group and 11 strokes out of the 259 men in the high lycopene group. The study said the risk of stroke was cut by 55% by having a diet rich in lycopene.
'Major reduction'
Dr Jouni Karppi, from the University of Eastern Finland in Kuopio, said: "This study adds to the evidence that a diet high in fruits and vegetables is associated with a lower risk of stroke. "The results support the recommendation that people get more than five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, which would likely lead to a major reduction in the number of strokes worldwide, according to previous research." He said lycopene acted as an antioxidant, reduced inflammation and prevented blood clotting.
Dr Clare Walton, from the Stroke Association, said: "This study suggests that an antioxidant which is found in foods such as tomatoes, red peppers and water-melons could help to lower our stroke risk. "However, this research should not deter people from eating other types of fruit and vegetables as they all have health benefits and remain an important part of a staple diet.
"More research is needed to help us understand why the particular antioxidant found in vegetables such as tomatoes could help keep our stroke risk down."

VICE PRESIDENT MUST NOT BE ASHAMED OF BEING GAY

By Ghana Gay and Lesbian Forum
We members of the Ghana Gay and Lesbian Forum are really excited that for the first time in the history of our country ,the ruling NDC has broken the yoke of oppression and has transformed the political landscape by selecting a gay man to be the Vice President of Ghana. We are beyond ourselves with joy, excitement and we are proud to celebrate Africa's first gay vice President and potentially future first gay President, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur.
Homosexuality is viewed a taboo in Ghana and we homosexuals live in fear of persecution and fear of harassment. We condemn the attacks of the Daily guide newspaper on Vice President Amissah Arthur. If the
Vice President had sexual intercourse with a certain Kwabena Sekyere and so what? He will not be the first neither will he be the last!
We want to live in an environment where we want our freedoms protected. It will help if Mr Amissah Arthur speaks out against these injustices and tells Ghanaians there is no shame in loving another man as he has done before.
His silence is a worry to us as he has attended previous meetings we have held twice when he was governor of Bank of Ghana and at these meetings he always promised to protect our interests. We hope as Vice President he will speak up for us.
Our membership nationwide is almost 5,000 and we cannot continue to be hiding in the shadows. We wants our rights and we hope Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur is the Moses we are looking for.

How my pastor raped my daughter and aborted her pregnancy – Abuja mother tells sad story in court

A restaurateur and mother of 14-year old girl has told a Chief Magistrates' Court in Karu how the pastor of a church she attends serially had carnal knowledge of her daughter, impregnating her and aborting the pregnancy.
According to her, the pastor had his way with the teenager on the pretence that he was carrying out deliverance on her. The said pastor, Princewil Basil is standing trial for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge, impregnating and abortion and for also having sexual intercourse with another 15-year-old girl,
Amarachi Onuoha.

The police charge sheet reads in part, "that you Apostle Princewill Basil severally had unlawful carnal knowledge of one Favour Iwuoha, 14-years- old and Amarachi Onuha, 15-years-old, who are all students and members of your church, in your church office on the pretence that you are carrying out deliverance on them, and you impregnated Favour Iwuoha.
''When you discovered such, you conspired with Pauline Okoh Odey and took her to Fantami head medical center, Mararaba and you falsely impersonated yourself as her father and aborted her pregnancy without her consent."
The victim's mother, Mrs Ngozi Iwuoha, told the court that her pastor, Apostle Princewill Basil, lied to her daughter that there was a "dirty foundation that defined her life'' and he wanted to cast out evil spirits from her.
Apostle Basil who runs Mountain of Mover Fire Ministry Church in Nyanya, was said to have ordered the teenager to remove her clothes in his office, to enable him cast out evil spells from her and that after she removed her dress, he started pouring and rubbing a certain oily substance on her body.
Iwuoha, who was testifying in the trial of the pastor by the police, said even when the girl asked the pastor whether one has to remove ones dress for deliverance, the pastor slapped her.
The pastor, she said also told the girl after rubbing her with oil that there were still certain spirits in her body which can only be removed by her husband and since she was not married, he was going to do it for her.
Consequently, he asked her to close her eyes and by the time she opened her eyes, the pastor had
removed his dress. At this point, the pastor removed a handkerchief and rubbed her face with it which made her unconscious.
The witness further told the court that by the time her daughter regained consciousness, she noticed there was blood all over her genitals. The pastor, she said cleaned her and brought a knife, threatening her never to reveal the encounter to anyone including her mother otherwise he would kill her. She said from the deliverance record she got from her daughter, the pastor first had carnal knowledge of her daughter on July 27, 2011 and continued carrying out the dastardly act until her daughter missed her menstrual period in December 2011.
"When the pastor discovered that my daughter was pregnant, he took her to Mararaba and aborted the pregnancy. But it was when I found out that my daughter was ceaselessly bleeding and that it no longer appeared to be her menstrual period that I began to ask her questions,'' she added.
Chief Magistrate, Shuaibu Ahmed adjourned hearing in the matter to November 13, for continuation of trail.

Nigerian gunmen 'kill Mubi students'

At least 20 people, mostly students, have been killed by unknown gunmen in Mubi, north- eastern Nigeria, a police source has told the BBC.
The attack happened at a student hostel away from the Federal Polytechnic Mubi campus, the source said.
One Mubi resident told the BBC that more than 40 students had been killed but there is no official death toll.

The reported killing comes days after a major operation against the Boko Haram militant group inthe town.
National Emergency Management Agency spokesman Yushua Shuaib confirmed the attack to the Reuters news agency but had no details on casualties. He said it was not clear whether the attack was the work of Boko Haram, or the result of a dispute between rival political groups at the university.
A Red Cross official said at least 10 people had died, reports the AFP news agency. BBC Nigeria correspondent Will Ross says mobile phone masts in the area were recently attacked by the militants, so getting information from Mubi is difficult.

Joke: There is a monkey in the bar

A man walks into a bar and orders a beer. He takes his first sip and sets it down. While he is looking around the bar, a monkey swings down and steals the pint of beer from him before he is able to stop the monkey.
The man asks the barman who owns the monkey.
The barman replies the piano player. The man walks over to the piano player and says "Do you know your monkey stole my beer." The pianist replies "No, but if you hum it, I'll play it."

Joke: I'm trying to prove a point

A man drinks a shot of whiskey every night before bed. After years of this, the wife wants him to quit; she gets two shot glasses, filling one with water and the other with whiskey.
After getting him to the table that had the glasses, she brings his bait box. She says "I want you to see this." She puts a worm in the water it, and it swims around.
She puts a worm in the whiskey, and the worm dies immediately. She then says, feeling that she has made her point clear, "what do you have to say about this experiment?"
He responds by saying: "If I drink whiskey, I won't get worms!"

Biggest cannabis haul from Ghana seized at Heathrow Airport

Border officers at Heathrow Airport have made their biggest cannabis seizure in three years after containers arriving on a plane from Ghana were found with drugs worth £4.3million.
The drugs, which weighed around 1.5 tonnes and had a street value of £4.3 million, were found in three separate freight containers filled with fresh fruit and vegetables.

Border Force officials found the cannabis in tape-wrapped compressed packages within boxes on the flight from Accra on Monday.
After being seized the drug was taken under armed escort to a secure location, where it will be stored until it is incinerated.
Marc Owen, Heathrow Director for Border Force, said: "This was smuggling on an industrial scale. It is a
significant quantity of cannabis, our biggest seizure of this kind in several years at Heathrow.
"The fact we have stopped it reaching the streets of the UK will make a substantial dent in the profits of the criminals responsible.
"The international drug trade is a vile business that Border Force officers play a key part in disrupting." Officers are trying to discover the intended destination of the drugs.

See The First Pilot Without Arms Licensed To Fly

Jessica Cox suffered a rare birth defect and was born without any arms. None of the prenatal tests her mother took showed there was anything wrong with her. And yet she was born with this rare congenital disease, but also with a great spirit.
The psychology graduate can write, type, drive a car, brush her hair and talk on her phone simply using her feet. Ms Cox, from Tuscon, Arizona, USA, is also a former dancer and double black belt in Tae Kwon-Do. She has a no-restrictions driving license, she flies planes and she can type 25 words a minute.
The plane she is flying is called an Ercoupe and it is one of the few airplanes to be made and certified without pedals. Without rudder pedals, Jessica is free to use her feet as hands. Her flight training took three years instead of the normal six months to earn her lightweight aircraft licence, had three flying instructors and practiced 89 hours of flying, becoming the first pilot with no arms.
Be Inspired, limiting beliefs can prevent you from succeeding. If you can dream it, you can achieve it.

A LITTLE WEED AND THREE SIBLINGS(A PREVIEW)

Sitting here in this class waiting for my very first masters lecture, a girl walked past my table and knocked off my blackberry phone from the table and she bent to pick up the phone only to raise her face looking starstruck, turned out it was her nude picture that was the wallpaper on my phone. She asked quietly how I got the picture and outta the initial annoyance of her attempting to break one of my most prized assets replied with "how the f**k does that concern you?!"

and at that moment it struck me and pulled her outta the class towards my car and without resisting she got into the car with me and watched silently as I drove off to a
quiet location on campus. "was that you?" I asked eagerly like I didn't know the answer, that meant she was the girl I picked up from the club four years ago in my undergraduate years when I was still a young and wild student and it happened she was one of the few to actually matched my "wildness".
Let's take a detour into my past. I was high on weed that night and it was a Wednesday night, restless and hungry, I did head out to the nearest restaurant to the house in anticipation to fill my belly then head home to sleep only to notice the company of three girls dressed like they were going for a party and the youngest of them caught my eye and attention. they introduced themselves as tolu, Tomi and Temitope. Tomi and temi are sisters and tolu being their cousin. Temitope was the youngest and was nicknamed tush because she has high taste for fashion and at that point had just finished high school.
So I offered to buy them a meal so as to listen more to their ordeals and this lead to three different stories which I named Temitope the tush, Tomi the Barbie and tolu the damsel.

Tolu the damsel

Tolu is a dark skinned, pink lipped, tinted haired damsel. She schooled abroad far away in Malaysia as a physiotherapist and hopefully wants to be a physio for a top England football club. She's the eldest of the crew and can easily convince the girls. She is also very independent and has her own money from trading on local fabrics abroad and latest designer wears here in Nigeria. She has a boutique in the high end Lagos. She was the first to notice the stench of marijuana on me and asked where she could get some and after few
attempt at denying it, I told her she should follow me home, she said she heard it was a ladies free night at a club in town and they intend to dance that night. I told them they should wait for me while I try to find a cab and made me look like a fool when they drove up beside me in a lemon colored Volkswagen bug.

Google launches Nexus 7 tablet in Japan

TOKYO: Google said Tuesday it was launching its Nexus 7 tablet computer in Japan, aiming to take on Apple's iPad in one of the most lucrative markets in the world.
The Nexus 7′s 16 gigabyte model, powered by the latest generation of Android software is available to order at Google Play starting Tuesday and will hit store shelves on October 2.
Priced at 19,800 yen ($255), it comes in around half the price of the lowest spec third generation iPad
available in Japan.
Speaking at an event at a Tokyo hotel, executive chairman Eric Schmidt said the rapid-fire growth of its Android operating system would help Google's seven-inch tablet catch on in Japan.
"Android has grown so fast it's hard to keep up," he said. "There are now more than 500 million Android
users around the world."
A survey Google conducted showed 75 per cent of Japanese smartphone owners use their devices for
shopping, he noted. "That points us to the next enormous growth business in Japan," he said, adding there was "a new wealth that can be created around the Japanese shopping experience".
Google's Android operating system is the mainstay for many of Apple's rivals in the lucrative smartphone industry, growing rapidly around the globe.
In a bold, and expensive, move to tap into that growth, Google itself paid over $12 billion to buy the Motorola Mobility handset business. But that move raised questions over how Google would balance its own mobile device hardware with supplying the operating system for companies that are now rivals in the intensely competitive race to catch up with Apple's hit iPhone.
Google has launched Nexus 7 in other markets such as Australia, Canada, Britain, and the United States.
