Chelsea Vs. Atletico Madrid, UEFA Super Cup 2012: Falcao, Atletico Run Wild Over Chelsea 4-1

The 2012 edition of the UEFA Super Cup, pitting the
current Champions League holder Chelsea against
the current Europa League holder Atletico Madrid
was indeed super...in an incredibly lopsided way.
Chelsea looked listless and disinterested, and
Atletico took advantage riding a Falcao hat trick to a
4-1 thrashing of the Blues.
Atletico Madrid came out of the gates like a concert
fan who's first through the entrance with a ticket for
the general admission section right in front of the
stage. In the 4th minute, Falcao redirected a cross
from Filipe Kasmirski off the bottom of the bar that
just missed going in. Fortunately for Atletico fans,
Falcao subscribes to the "if at first you don't succeed, try try
again" motto. Just two minutes later Falcao split the Cheslea defense
and ran down a beautiful ball over the top of the back line. He took
his time and chipped Cech to the far post, deflecting the ball off the
post and in to the net, despite a great effort from Luiz to keep it
out.
Falcao wasn't done yet. In the 19th minute after
again picking apart Chelsea's shaky midfield and
defense, the striker set-up just inside the box, froze
the defenders and lined up Cech before beating the
keeper with a curling shot in to the top, far corner.
Lovely goal and a 2-0 lead for Atletico. Because
Falcao believes that two hat tricks in five days are
totally cool, which of course it is, he went ahead and
got his third goal of the evening right before first half stoppage time.
The second half was only different from the first in
that Chelsea finally scored, Atletico only scored once
and it wasn't Falcao. After a free kick in the 60th
minute inexplicably got past multiple Chelsea
defenders, Miranda came streaking in and chipped
the ball over Cech and past a sliding Gary Cahill to
put the Spanish side up 4-0.
Cahill scored a consolation goal in the 74th minute
thanks to a nice shot that founds it's way through a
traffic and under the legs of Atletico goalkeeper
Thibaut Courtois.

NDC Delegates Anoint Mahama Flag Bearer For December Polls

President John Dramani Mahama's quest for his

party's presidential nomination in December's polls

culminated Thursday afternoon, when delegates at

the Special National Congress in Kumasi, made him

their choice to continue the "Better Ghana" agenda.

He secured an overwhelming "Yes" vote of 2,767

representing 99.5 percent of the total votes cast.

There were 14 "No" votes which represented 0.5

percent.

In all, a total of 2792 votes were cast, out of which

2781 were valid and the remaining 11 rejected.

A deputy commissioner of the Electoral Commission,

Mr Sarfo Kantanka who announced the results

declared Mr Mahama as securing the bid of the

delegates.

Mr. Mahama's nomination comes a day after the

main opposition New Patriotic Party launched their

manisfesto, having launched their campaign for the

December polls last Saturday.

Dressed in the funeral cloth of the late President John

Evans Atta Mills, Mr Mahama arrived at the congress

grounds in an open-top cross country vehicle and

acknowledged cheers by waving his white

handkerchief at the teeming crowd in the stands.

He exchanged pleasantries with dignitaries and took

his seat beside former President Jerry Rawlings who

had earlier arrived at the congress grounds to a

rapturous welcome.

Mr Rawlings' appearance at the congress was in

doubt given his recent history of accusing the party

of abandoning the values of probity and

accountability on which the NDC was founded.

It was Mr Alban Sumani Bagbin, Chairman of the

Standing Orders Committee of the NDC, who moved

the motion for the adoption of the special national

delegates' congress.

The special congress became possible following the

demise of President J.E.A. Mills on July 24, 2012 who

had earlier been nominated in 2011, to lead the NDC

for the December polls.

His Vice, John Dramani Mahama, succeeded him and

following a National Executive Committee meeting a

few days later, he was endorsed to become the

leader of the party.

The special delegates congress was therefore to

acclaim him as the party's presidential nominee for

the December elections

Solidarity messages from other political parties such

as the People's National Convention (PNC), New

Patriotic Party (NPP), Convention People's Party (CPP)

, Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), United

Front Party (UFP), Progressive People's Party (PPP),

Reform Patriotic Democrats (RPD) and the National

Democratic Party (NDP) were delivered at the

congress.

The scoreboard at the Kumasi stadium was draped

with a banner, which had a beautiful picture of the

late President Mills embracing President Mahama

with the inscription – "A Better Ghana … still

pursuing the vision."

Man City make move for Maicon

Manchester City have stepped up their bid to sign Inter Milan defender

Maicon, but admit there is only an "outside chance" that a deal will

go through before transfer deadline day.

Maicon, 31, has just one year remaining on his contract at the San

Siro and City are hoping to broker a cut-price deal for a player Inter

value at around €6 million.

City manager Roberto Mancini worked with the Brazil

international at Inter for two seasons before leaving the Serie A club

in 2008. He is eager to be re-united with Maicon, who can play

anywhere on the right flank. City are hoping to bolster their defence

before Friday's transfer deadline but a club insider told ESPN that

"there's only an outside chance" of the Maicon deal going through.

Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni has named Maicon in his squad for

Thursday night's Europa League play-off second leg against Romanian

side Vaslui, indicating he still has a role if he remains at the club.

"Obviously Maicon has unique characteristics and we'll see what

happens up to the transfer window. If he stays, we will all be happy,"

Stramaccioni said. "We won't be caught unprepared, as we have with

Javier Zanetti and Jonathan."

However, Premier League champions City are on the

brink of sealing a deal to sign Serbia defender Matija

Nastasic from Fiorentina. Nastasic, 19, has been a long-term target of

Mancini, and the clubs are thought to have agreed a fee of around £12

million for his transfer. "It will very likely be completed today,

with [Stefan] Savic going the other way," the City source said.

World's Shortest Man and Woman Meet

For the first time in history, the shortest man and

woman in the world have met. The shortest man,

Chandra Bahadur Dangi, 72, is from a remote area of

Nepal and stands 21.5 inches tall. Eighteen-year-old

Jyoti Amge hails from Nagpur, India and measures

just under 25 inches tall.

It was a match made in heaven for Guinness World

Records, which arranged the introduction for a photo

shoot to promote the upcoming release of Guinness

World Records 2013 on September 13. To provide

scale, a record book (12 inches in length) was placed

between Chandra and Jyoti for one of the photos.

"It was an extraordinary moment," says Marco

Frigatti, the official Guinness World Records

Adjudicator, who also took part in the photo shoot.

"They're both such incredible individuals. Everyone

knew this was a special moment, and the

atmosphere was magical."

World's Oldest Family has combined age of 818

A Record-Breaking Birthday

Jyoti secured the World's Shortest Woman title

simply by reaching womanhood on her 18th birthday

in December of last year. She has a condition called

achondroplasia, a genetic disorder that affects bone

growth and cartilage formation. Achondroplasia is

the most common cause of dwarfism.

Jyoti won't grow any taller than her current height.

Due to her size, she has her clothes specially made.

She sleeps in a tiny bed and uses special plates and

cutlery to eat. Jyoti is currently pursuing her dream

of becoming a successful actress. She has already

starred in a number of Indian films.

"Since being recognized by Guinness World Records,

I have been able to visit lots of different countries,"

says Jyoti. "I love travelling. I have visited Japan and

parts of Europe, and now I can't wait to visit the UK."

A Record-Breaking Discovery

In February this year, Chandra made headlines

around the world when he was crowned the World's

Shortest Man. Until his recent discovery, he had

spent his entire life in the remote Nepalese mountain village of

Rhimkholi, about 250 miles west of Kathmandu. Because Chandra has

never been

examined by a doctor, the cause of his short stature

is unknown. According to a report from the Daily

Mail, doctors suspect he has a form of primordial

dwarfism.

Chandra's 21.5-inch height also snagged him the

title of Shortest Man in History, breaking the previous record of

India's Gul Mohammed, who was 22.5 in tall.

"I'm very happy that I'm being recognized by

Guinness World Records and that my name will be

written in a book," says Chandra. "It's a big thing for

my family, my village and my country. I am very

happy."

JOKE........NAIJA POLICE NA WAH OOO

A true life story as:
I was on a journey with my pastor when we met a team of policemen on duty on Asaba Benin express way at about 5pm. After they have searched us and didn't find anything implicating, one of them went to the front
of the car and shouted stolen vehicle. Just because part of the plate number has fallen out. Sensing trouble and delay even when we knew we haven't committed any offence. The pastor called the officer in charge
and told him 'look am a man of God and don't have time for this nonsense, then the officer said 'then man of God settle us and go your way or do you want us to take you to the station for driving a car without a number?' but the pastor insisted that he's a minster and can't do such thing to give bribe. Then the police officer said 'if you are indeed a pastor where is your bible? Because you should have a bible with you, the pastor brought out his bible and the officer ordered him 'open and read mathew 5:25-26 to me. The pastor opens and reads ''settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court, do it while you are still with him on the way or he may hand you over to the judge and the judge may hand you over to the officer and you will be thrown into prison, i tell you the truth you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.'' The pastor after reading quietly made an offering of just N300 to the officer. End of service, go in peace and argue no more. Said the police officer.

From a friend.

World's Oldest Woman Says She Got There by Being Super Boring

116-year-old Besse Cooper celebrated another

birthday as the world's oldest living person today.

Cooper is a Virgo, which means she is analytical,

precise, and reliable, though she may also come

across as fussy and inflexible. She would get along

very well with Jessica Alba, a Taurus, and Henri

Matisse, a Capricorn. A good occupation for her would

be institutional worker (particularly mental hospitals

and prisons)

, though now that she is extremely old the best

occupation for her would probably be nothing.

Guinness World Records reports that Cooper is one of

only eight documented "supercentenarians" to have

reached the age of 116. The oldest person known to

have ever lived is Methuselah (no last name given),

who died at age 969, followed by Frenchwoman

Jeanne Calment who died at age 122.

When a super old person is asked how they managed

to live so long, they typically give a fun, sassy answer

like, "I eat jellybeans and fried chicken every day!"

or, "Once a month I hunt a human for sport."

Unfortunately, Besse seems to have reached 116 by

being totally boring.

"I mind my own business and I don't eat junk

food."

By refusing to sully her lips with gossip, Cooper is

cheating the world out of 100 years of secrets. What

did Grover Cleveland smell like? Was Lizzie Borden

fun at parties? Were people smaller back then? Etc.

Besse was Born in Tennessee in 1896 and married

her husband Luther in 1924.

In honor of her birthday, a bridge in the Georgia

County where she has lived since the 1920s was

named for her.

15-Year-Old Javelin Thrower with Either Worst or Best Aim Kills Judge at Competition

A boy who, in another lifetime, might have been a lord of Winterfell is receiving psychological counseling today after hurling a javelin through the jugular vein of a judge during an athletics competition in Germany on Sunday. The victim, 74-year-old Dieter Strack, died after undergoing emergency surgery. Newspapers describe him as a "popular" figure in the Düsseldorf sports scene, which means that the 15-year-old Killer of Men didn't just murder someone's old Pop-pop—he murdered someone's Pop-pop whom everybody loved. The 66th annual Wilhelm Unger games were canceled in the wake of the tragedy. The competition's official website provides phone numbers those who witnessed the incident can call to receive free counseling. (One hotline provides counseling for evangelicals, the other provides it for Catholics. Everyone else can skip the counseling because they don't have souls anyway and probably clapped and cheered when Dieter Strack was struck down.) Witnesses to the gory scene are still trying to figure out exactly how it happened. The fact that teenagers were hurling sharpened spears through the air is likely to blame. (People are suggesting that a gust of wind—an angel's sneeze—may have blown the javelin slightly off course.) Police spokesman Andre Hartwig said that police had opened an investigation into the judge's death, but that early indications suggested it was an accident, rather than a calculated attempt by a 74-year-old vampire who looks like a 15-year-old boy to eliminate his enemies. No doubt exactly what that "15-year-old" wants everyone to think.

Women in Togo Going on Week-Long Sex Strike in Effort to Remove President from Power

Inspired by a similar protest in Liberia nearly a decade ago, an opposition coalition of civil rights groups in Togo has issued a call for a week-long sex strike aimed at pushing out the country's president, whose family has ruled the tiny West African nation for nearly fifty years. "We have many means to oblige men to understand what women want in Togo," Isabelle Ameganvi, leader of the opposition group Let's Save Togo, told the Associated Press. At a rally this past Saturday in Lome, where the sex strike was announced, Jean-Pierre Fabre of the opposition party National Alliance for Change, demanded President Faure Gnassingbé resign immediately.
Gnassingbé rose to power through a highly contested election in 2005, which took place following the death of his father, dictator Gnassingbé Eyadéma. The senior Gnassingbé, who had been President of Togo since 1967, had been Africa's longest-serving ruler at the time of his death. Female anti-government protesters hope that the sex strike will help convince more men to get involved in bringing about political change. Among other things, they seek to put a limit on the number of times a president can be re-elected. As for how many women will agree to participate in the strike, that remains to be seen. "For me, it's like fasting, and unless you fast, you will not get what you want from God," said opposition member Abla Tamekole. "I do agree that we women have to observe this sex strike but I know my husband will not let me complete it," said Judith Agbetoglo. "He may agree at first, but as far as I know him, he will change overnight."
Fabre, the opposition party leader, is among the male detractors. "One week sex strike is too much," he said. "Let's go for only two days." But Ameganvi insists that, even if the strike fails, she
will not give up fight. "If men refuse to hear our cries we will hold another demonstration that will be more
powerful than a sex strike," she told the BBC.

Syria: Helicopter crashes in Damascus

Armed rebels in Syria say they have shot down a military helicopter over the capital, Damascus. The Free Syrian Army said the aircraft had been firing at people in the north-eastern district of Jobar, and that it had crashed in neighbouring Qabun. State television confirmed that a helicopter had come down in Qabun.
On Sunday, opposition activists said government forces had massacred more than 300 people during
their assault on the south-western suburb of Darayya.
Video footage and photographs have emerged, showing scores of bodies, including those of women and children.
State media blamed the opposition for the killings and said Darayya had been "cleansed of terrorist remnants". The chairman of the UN Human Rights Council's Independent Commission of Inquiry on Syria, Paulo Pinheiro, told the BBC the killings might constitute a war crime.
Military offensive
According to opposition activists, the military helicopter was shot down as it was bombarding Jobar, as heavy fighting broke out between rebels and government forces. Witnesses told the Reuters news agency the
helicopter burst into flames after being hit by a projectile during an exchange of fire and crashed in a narrow residential street in Qabun. "It was flying overhead the eastern part of the city and firing all morning. The rebels had been trying to hit it for about an hour, and finally they did," said Abu Bakr, a local activist.
Activists posted video footage online which appears to show a burning helicopter crashing to the ground. Rebels can be heard shouting: "Allahu Akbar (God is greatest)." State TV confirmed that a helicopter had crashed near the al-Ghufran mosque in Qabun, though it did not say if it had been shot down. A spokesman for the FSA's Badr Battalion in Damascus, Omar al-Qabuni, told the AFP news agency that the body of the pilot had been found. "It was in revenge for the Darayya massacre,".
The FSA also claimed to have shot down a Mig-23 fighter jet on 13 August in the eastern province of Deir al-Zour. The helicopter appears to have been taking part in an increasingly fierce attempt by government forces to regain control of the capital's suburbs, and heavy clashes are said to have erupted after it came down.
On Sunday, military helicopters were firing rockets at Jobar and the neighbouring districts of Zamalka and
Irbin, activists said. Meanwhile, President Bashar al-Assad has reiterated his claim that a "foreign" conspiracy is behind the uprising in Syria and promised that he would not allow it to succeed "whatever the price might be". "What is happening right now is not just a plot directed against Syria but the region as a whole, of which Syria is a foundational stone," he was quoted as saying by the state news agency, Sana.

Are your sexy strands fast losing their hue or are frequent dips in the swimming pool leaving your hair green? Do you have oily roots and extremely dry, split hair ends? Before you lose your sleep over your hairy-woes, know that caring for your mane with massaging, shampooing and conditioning can leave your hair bouncing with joy. Pump up your hair with a stylish snip once in every three months and kiss dry split ends adieu for good.

Juventus not interested in Barcelona forward Villa, says Marotta

Juventus chief Giuseppe Marotta has denied that the club have approached Barcelona over forward David Villa. Reports in Spain had suggested that a move could be in the offing, but this has now been refuted by the 57-year-old executive. The Old Lady are looking to sign a high-profile striker this summer, and have been linked with Robin van Persie, Edin Dzeko and Fernando Llorente at various times. However, 30-year-old Villa is not on their list of targets. "I can rule out any interest or negotiations for David Villa," Marotta is quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo. "He is a great player, but not the type we are looking for. We want a striker in the style of Edinson Cavani or Llorente, who are our primary targets along with Edin Dzeko." With time running out in the transfer window, Juve will no doubt be concentrating their efforts on recruiting a new goalscorer to aid their quest for back-to-back Serie A titles.

Rooney faces four weeks out

Wayne Rooney faces four weeks on the sidelines after the England striker needed hospital treatment on a nasty leg injury suffered during Manchester United's 3-2 win over Fulham on Saturday.
Rooney was stretchered off in the closing minutes at Old Trafford with blood pouring from a deep thigh gash sustained when the United star collided with Hugo Rodallega's boot as he tried to a block a shot from the Fulham striker. Television pictures showed a severe cut down Rooney's right leg and United manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed the injury was serious enough to keep him out for at least a month. "It was a very bad one. He has gone to hospital. It looks like he will be out for four weeks," Ferguson said.
Unless Rooney makes a quicker than expected recovery, the forward will miss United's Premier League games against Southampton, Wigan and Liverpool, as well as the club's opening Champions League group fixture.
The injury is also a blow for England manager Roy Hodgson, who will have to plan without Rooney for his side's opening two FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine next month.

Kanye West moves to reconcile D’banj and Don Jazzy

From myjoyonline.com
In a bid to get his former maverick producer back, D'Banj, we gathered, has asked Kanye West to talk to Don Jazzy.
According to reports, the DB Records owner and pop artiste D'Banj is desperately trying to reconcile with his former Mo' Hits partner Don Jazzy. A few months ago the rap superstar called Don Jazzy to try and get the two Mo' Hits owners to forget the past and work again.
Our source who is close to both D'Banj and Don Jazzy confirmed this to be true and said, D'Banj's attempt to get Don Jazzy back has been going on for sometime now.
According to an inside source, "Kanye West, believed to be at the center of the controversy that led to their fight is making efforts to reconcile them…Kanye West was not aware of the fight between D'Banj and Don Jazzy until three months ago and has been trying to get them together."
We gathered from news from other media organizations that, "while he was in the studio with D'Banj some weeks back working on the remix of Scapegoat, Kanye West brought the topic up again and asked D'banj why Don Jazzy was not in the US with him working on the song. D'Banj was said to have told him that they are still friends but work on different platforms now."
Reports added that, "Again, Kanye is not happy about the fact that his name was on the internet as one of the reasons the duo fell apart. He insists they get back together if he has to keep working him. He prompted D'Banj to once again try and make up with Don Jazzy."
"Recently D'Banj invited Kanye West to come to Nigeria for the video shoot of Scape Goat remix he did with him. He accepted but gave a strict condition that he will come only after he has reconciled with Don Jazzy who must also be in the video," reports added.
According to informed sources, there have several attempts by D'Banj for Don Jazzy to agreed and appear in the video on a condition that he gets paid for his appearance.
As it is now, to reconcile the duo, it will take divine intervention to have such formidable spirit back, pundits hinted.

Apple awarded $1bn in damages from Samsung in US

A US court has ordered Samsung to pay Apple $1.05bn (£665m) in damages for infringing intellectual property.
The jury decided several Samsung devices had infringed iPhone-maker Apple's software and design patents, but rejected counter claims by Samsung. Apple will now seek import bans on several of its rival's products.
In recent weeks, a court in South Korea ruled that both technology firms had copied each other while a British court threw out claims by the US company that Samsung had infringed its copyright. But the year-long US case has involved some of the biggest damages claims and is likely to shape the way patent licences are handled in the future.

How To Pour Beer

You may realize that drinking beer is a lot easier task than pouring it in a glass. Pouring beer is an art and requires the right amount of effort to get the perfect taste of the beverage. While most of the people are masters in gulping beer, very few of them actually master the task of pouring it. There is a definite way in which a bottle of beer should be poured into a glass. The proper and right way of pouring beer not only means the perfect look, but is also indicative of the perfect taste. In the following lines, we have provided tips for pouring perfect beer into a glass, to relish it till the last drop.
Proper Way For Pouring Beer
To master the art of pouring beer, the first step is to get the right glass for the beverage. Just like you would not pour wine in an opaque plastic cup, in the same way, beer should also not be poured in an opaque glass. A clear, look-through beer mug is the best bet. Imagine the pain that the brewer, who gave in his heart and soul to create the specific color, would go through, watching you drinking the beverage in an opaque glass. The second most important step would be to check if the glass is completely clean or not. Glasses that have oil, dirt or residue remains do not offer the right head and may also change the flavor of the beer. In case, you are worried about the large head of the drink, wet the insides of the glass prior to pouring it. At the time of pouring the beer, angle the glass at 45 degrees. Now, start pouring the beer, aiming at the middle of the incline of the glass. When the mug is half-filled, straighten the glass to 90 degrees and start pouring the rest of the beer to fill the middle of the glass. A perfectly poured beer has an ideal head of about 1 to 1½ inches. You may also increase the distance of pouring, once you have gained the confidence to do so. A perfect head makes the beer have a good aroma and adds to the flavor and presentation. Note: Remember, pouring beer is an art and should be mastered by all those who indulge in the drink. The existence of head is extremely important for the beer, as it is with humans. While some beer requires head purely for the aesthetic look, there are others that need the head to reveal their aromatic flavor.
Different Pours For Different Beers
For AlesFor pouring ales beer, the process would be more or less as mentioned above, only with an exception that your should pour a little longer along the side of the glass, while tilting it. The main aim of pouring the drink would be to have a head measuring about a finger-width. A larger head would mean that you might lose the characteristic bitter or hoppy flavor.
For HefeweizenDo not be surprised if the head of the drink sneaks up on you and ruins your new dress, thanks to the foaming quality of hefeweizen's. A hefeweizen should be poured extra gently along the side of the glass. Do not straighten the glass halfway through your pour. As for the head, straighten the glass right at the end. A rule of the thumb while pouring hefeweizen - include yeasty sediment at the bottom of the bottle.
For StoutsIf you have had the opportunity of consuming this type of beer, you would know that the stout beer type requires a big head. Pour the beer halfway and allow it to settle for sometime. Later, finish off pouring the beer.
For PilsnersPilsners do not follow the general technique of beer pouring. According to experts, a pilsner should be poured straight down the vertical glass, if you want to get the healthy pilsner head. If you imitate this technique, head would characteristically extend over the lip of the glass.

Types Of Beer

Beer has been one of the most popular alcoholic beverages since a long time. It is amongst the oldest and the most consumed alcohol drinks in the whole world and continues to be a favorite of drinkers across the globe. Different styles of beer exist in the world, varying in terms of color, flavor, strength, ingredients, production method, recipe, history and origin. In fact, worldwide, there are almost 20000 beer brands, which are prepared in 180 different styles. Read on to find some of the popular types of beer.
Different Types Of BeerLager
The word lager means ‘storage’ in German. Lager is made through the process of bottom fermenting, which produces a smoother, mellower beer. Lager beers are light in color, high in carbonation and tend to be less alcoholic than ales. Lagers are best served chilled.
Ale – Ales are complete opposite of Lagers, as they are made by yeast that rises to the top during fermentation. They have a lower amount of carbonation when compared to lagers and should be served at a warmer temperature. Strong ales should be served at room temperature.
Amber – Amber beers have a rich golden color to them and are prepared by adding specialty grains to ales or lager. They become full bodied because of such additions.
Bitter Beer – Bitters are pale in color and have a strong alcoholic taste in them. This beer is pretty dry and aromatic, mostly found in British Pubs.
Dark Beer – Dark beer, as the name suggests, is dark in color and gets that look when the barley is kilned for a long time. This also creates richer, deeper flavors from the roasted grain.
Fruit Beer – Fruit Beer is the one to which fruits are added, during the stage of primary fermentation or at later stages. It is usually made with berries, although other fruits can also be used.
India Pale Ale – Popularly called IPA, India Pale Ale was originally brewed in India and then ported to England. These beers have large quantities of hop, added as preservatives, to save the beer from deterioration during the long journey.
Porter Beer – Porter beers are very dark in color and bitter to taste. Such types of beer were produced in England, as nourishing drinks for people who earned their living from manual work.
Mild Beer – Mild beers were prepared as a sweeter and a cheaper substitute for darker ales and porters. These beers were a lot popular in the mid nineteenth century, but lost their popularity after that.
Pilsner – Originally formed in Czechoslovakia, Pilsner beer is pale in color and has a golden tinge. This beer is lighter to taste and has been a model for many of the other beers, which popped up after it. Pilsner beer is best served chilled.
Stout – Stout beer is very dark in color and heavy in content. It was invented by Guinness, as a variation of the traditional porter with roasted unmalted barley and, often, caramel malt or sugar as its content. It is best served at a cool temperature.
Wheat Beer – This German style beer is prepared from malted wheat, in addition to the barley used. Wheat beers were drunk ahead of Prohibition and are also produced by Americans. The latter are much less ‘spicier’ than their German counterparts.

Time Management Skills

“We all have time to either spend or waste and it is our decision what to do with it. But once passed, it is gone forever.”- Bruce Lee in “Zen in the Martial Arts”. It is a common practice to equate time with money. A lot of the fortunate ones in today’s world have all the money in the world but even these people are hard pressed when it comes to time. We all have just a limited time in this lifetime; reincarnation does not count since we are different persons with different responsibilities by our next birth. Time management skills comes into play very early in our lives; it starts from trying to avoid cramming last minute for exams, finishing assignments and projects, to planning future so as to find a place in the eternal rat race – everything requires efficient time management. Read the next section to know more about this crucial attribute called time management.
Time Management Tips
To Do ListsPrepare and plan your day’s work. It is important to take note of the fact that a day’s work must be planned – a week or a month ahead of planning is not always the key. You could include important meetings and events in your planner but your first priority must be to plan the day’s work. Prepare a to-do list. Prioritise your work simultaneously. Allot a particular time period to each work. And be practical and logical while you are planning and prioritising.
Avoid Multi TaskingDo not try to be the jack of all trades and wear too many hats at a time. It will only successfully distract you. Save your concentration and focus on your top-most priority.
Be OrganisedIt is very important to file your important documents and remove the clutter from your work station. A pause in the middle of the work to find the missing pencil or the crucial legal paper is not happening and highly undesirable.
Be Effective Not Only EfficientUse your time effectively by giving your attention to important things which will propel you towards your goal/s. Urgent things are usually stuff that is another person’s headache and are the squeaky wheels that get the attention since they are annoying and make too much noise. In the long run, help yourself first and take care of yourself.
All Work And No Play Make Jack A Dull BoyWhen you sit down to plan your day’s work, it is very important to include some time for relaxation and distressing. Survey shows that when an individual is happy and has an active social life, he/she is better inclined to perform well.
Identify ProblemsPunctuality, distractions and lack of focus are all problems that even the best amongst us have to deal with at one point or the other. Identifying the above problems is a step towards progress. There is something called as the 80:20 rule which says that 80% of unfocussed work leads to the completion of only 20% of the work. And the rest 80% of the result is obtained if we are able to give only 20% of focussed attention to our work.
Visualisation Techniques And InspirationLast, but not the least, tip for effective time management skill is to visualise where you want to see yourself in the distant future. Very few among us can work without inspiration. Shun those who blabber and annoy and find your inspiration and passion for the work that you see yourself doing. No matter how much you manage your time and follow the time table by word of rote, the bottom line however is to enjoy the work that you are doing. Finding yourself something that you are passionate about is the best gift that you can give yourself. Work ceases to be work if that happens to be the case!

 Modern Home Décor Ideas
FurnitureSimplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Chuck out all the inessential items. Replace your heavy furniture with neat, multi-functional ones. As sofas seem too cumbersome, nowadays, they have been conveniently replaced by chairs which have sleek curves and look like sofas. Also the couches with geometric angles accentuate a modern home decor. The couches without arms are absolutely voguish. These couches arranged in "L" shape and decked with beautiful cushions add panache to the modern home decor. Bulky beds are obsolete and are no longer fit in a modern home. These old bulky beds need to be replaced with beds without headboards and footboards. Low height beds are the most in vogue, as they make the room look spacious and airy.
ColorsColors such as white, gray, cream, silver, beige and black, are the most popular choices be it for the paint on the walls or the fabrics or the upholstery. To fend off banality, it is wise to go for white or cream color for the walls with a few new pieces of furniture in the room in bright red color. The furniture will certainly stand out in such subtle backgrounds. However, for a fanciful and vivid modern decor, you can go for a motley assortment of furniture as well. If you prefer, you can keep your furniture in basic color with cushions of all sorts of color on it. For further adornments hang few bright-colored wall hangings and paintings on the walls.
Flooring And FabricsModern home flooring can be of hardwood, tile or concrete. Shiny white color tiles look particularly good in a modern living room. To add to the flamboyance, place some carpets and rugs on the floor. If the background of the room is in colors such as white, black and gray, go for bright-colored rugs having unusual geometric patterns, for a more ravishing modern interior decor. Placing a number of odd-shaped small rugs at various places in the same room will lend a dramatic touch to the decor. Go for fabrics in bold colors. As far as the fabrics are concerned having a consistent color and pattern, be it curtains, cushion covers, bedspreads, towels, etc. will impart a unified look. Nowadays, curtains with white, black or brown colored background have become immensely popular. To add a higher dimension to the décor, fetch curtains with some modern art design on them.
Accessories And LightingAs far as choices of accessories are concerned for a modern home, it is better to go for those that have some well-defined geometric shapes to them. Round mirrors with a silver metallic frame, glass vases in some unusual angular shapes, sculptures in black or white color, and a collage made from black and white framed photographs of the family are some of the finest options for you regarding accessories. Furthermore, ceramic pots, sleek lamps, a metallic chandelier, contemporary black and white paintings will bring grandeur to the decor. Vases are important ornaments of home décor therefore keep a cluster of motley flowers. One more significant component of your home décor is the lighting. It plays a key role in the final look that your home exudes, so get a few metallic lamps, place then on either side of the sofa. Also, add a few spotlights, to highlight your favorite accessories in your modern home.
Some Other ConsiderationsThere some other considerations for you to be made in order to pep up the entire decor. Make television the focal point in the living room. Place bookshelf with books properly arranged in one of the living room walls. Paint some horizontal stripes on the wall. Make sure the attached bathroom in the bedroom is made of glass. Lastly, have an arty centerpiece placed on the dining table, just below a metallic chandelier. Quite obviously there is a plethora of elements which can add elegance to your modern home decor. Be certain of their suitability before you apply them to jazz up your modern home!

Stretch Marks Prevention

Pregnancy is a wonderful time in any woman's life! It brings with itself ecstasy, anxiety and fear all rolled into one. Being able to create a new life is nothing short of a miracle. You know that your favorite jeans will no longer fit you; neither would your favorite off-shouldered purple gown. It may seem silly in comparison to the happiness you are about to get, but giving childbirth doesn’t mean everything rosy. Getting stretch marks is one ugly outcome of getting pregnant. Nonetheless, let that not fade away your happiness. Getting stretch marks largely depends on the genes, but with a little precaution, you can surely minimize them. Here are some tips to help you in stretch marks prevention!
How To Prevent Stretch Marks During Pregnancy
Eat A Balanced Diet
Eating a proper meal is not only important for the life growing inside you, but also to keep your beauty intact. Incorporate leafy vegetables, proteins, vitamins, carbohydrates, etc in your diet. Make sure that you integrate dairy products and dairy supplements in your diet. Nevertheless, it is equally important to see if you are overeating. Many pregnant women tend to eat a lot during pregnancy, which is not advisable. Eat in the prescribed and balanced amount.
Wear A Supportive Bra
Gaining weight during pregnancy is a normal thing. However, many women, instead of going for suitable bra and maternity clothes, go for temporary arrangement and don’t want to spend big money on something this short-term. Wrong maternity clothes and unsupportive bras can ruin your body shape and increase stretch marks. So, buy a supportive bra, according to your new size and get clothes that are comfortable.
Moisturize In And Out
When the belly stretches, it cannot go completely back to the pre-pregnancy state, even after delivery. If you want it to at least resemble what it was before pregnancy, you will have to moisturize it. Moisturize with oils, creams and lotions, twice daily, without fail. It will also help get rid of itching, which is a common pregnancy problem. Moisturizing from the inside means drinking lots of water. Drink lots of water and keep the stretch marks at bay.
Watch Your Weight Gain
The more weight you gain, the more stretch marks you will get. So, instead of eating mindlessly, eat a balanced diet and watch your weight. Consult your gynecologist about the prescribed weight gain and make sure that you don’t exceed an ounce over the approved weight.
Use Vitamin E
Vitamin E is your salvation in time of pregnancy. It will help reduce the complications and risk during childbirth. It is very effective in preventing stretch marks as well, since it can regenerate the dead cells. This vitamin also makes the body firm and elastic, making it less prone to stretch marks. Postpartum stretch marks can also be removed by massaging the belly with vitamin E oil and taking its supplements.
Apply Cocoa Butter/Shea Butter
Keep these creams within your hand’s reach during pregnancy. Shea has unique soothing and moisturizing abilities and thus, is able to reduce stretch marks. Cocoa butter works in same way and is widely used in massaging creams. You would find their supplements in any departmental store. Massage your belly twice with Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter daily, and you would find your abdomen stretch marks-free after your baby’s birth.
Use Collagen Rich Creams
These creams basically help in getting a firmer and toned skin appearance. Collagen rich cream moisturizes, tones, firms, tightens and protects the skin cells, thus helps in getting rid of stretch marks. Shop online or head to the nearest departmental store. Keep these creams in store and massage your belly, your thighs and your underarms with them, along with all the other stretch marks prone places, with them.
Increase Circulation To The Area
Increase circulation to the stretch mark-prone areas. Use something with a bit of texture to massage the belly and thighs, like loofahs, although a feather light one, to increase the blood circulation, which will eventually prevent stretch marks.
Keep Exercising
Exercising will help keep your weight in check, make you healthier, reduce your labor pain and diminish the stretch marks. Daily exercise will keep the skin elastic and firm and will increase your over all beauty as well. However, before integrating any exercise in your daily routine, don’t forget to consult your gynecologist.

Ramirez set for Saints

Southampton have had a bid of €15 million accepted for Bologna winger Gaston Ramirez, beating off competition from Liverpool and Tottenham. Ramirez would be a huge signing for Saints. Uruguay international Ramirez, who was part of the Olympic squad, turned down a move to Tottenham but appears to be keen on a move to the South Coast in a stunning move for the newly promoted side. Ramirez told Corriere Dello Sport: "They believe in me in every way... and above all I have said that they are going to grow. Southampton is a newly promoted team in the English top flight, but they have the means to stand tall in a few years. And with me they are going to build. It's all very stimulating. Even if it is a little strange." The 21-year-old scored eight goals in 28 apperances in Serie A last season and revealed that he was offered a deal that was too hard to refuse. "The truth? I think so, yes, this time," he said when asked if he was about to leave. "Bologna have reached an economic agreement with Southampton. There are only a few details to sort out, but they have found the agreement in principle, and the English club have reached an agreement with me. "It is an offer that you cannot refuse. They will give me so much money (€2 million net per year and more than €1 million signing-on fee)." Nicola Cortese, executive chairman of Southampton, is believed to have been key in bringing the youngster to the club from Italy.
