Philip Addison Loses Korle Klottey NPP Primary

Former constituency chairman of the NPP at Korle Klottey in the Greater Accra region Nii Noi Nortey has been elected parliamentary candidate for the party for the 2016 elections.
He polled 393 votes beating his main
contender Philip Addison who secured 22 votes and Adjei Tawiah who obtained 19.
The Saturday election was dogged with challenges.
Earlier, supporters of the various candidates earlier clashed at the headquarters over the timing of the poll.
While supporters of the former constituency chairperson Nii Noi Nortey insisted the election can take place today as directed by the national executives, those of Philip Addison and Nii Adjei Tawiah said today was inappropriate.
The two rival supporter groups invaded the headquarters of the party in Asylum-down.
Mr. Addison who was lawyer for the party during 2012 election petition case had said the election was being rushed through by the party executives.
Primaries for the Korle Klottey and Okaikoi South parliamentary seats were scheduled for today Sunday August 2, 2015 following the resolution of the issues that stalled them.
